Happy May!
This year, the changes in season have also brought some new changes to the Affiliate.
First, we are pleased to announce that Komen Kentucky’s board of directors has appointed Amy Pehlke, a seven-year volunteer and board member, to the position of Executive Director. Amy has gone above-and-beyond in her service to our organization, and I have no doubt that her efforts and dedication thus far are just a glimpse of what is to come. Her appointment also marks a new season for my role within the Affiliate.
Effective immediately, I will serve Komen Kentucky as Director of Development, working to collaborate with medical providers and community organizations to develop direct patient-centered services to remove barriers and connect people to quality health care.
I want to thank you for entrusting me with the responsibilities of serving as Executive Director these past eight years and reiterate the honor that it was and will always continue to be. I am looking forward to working alongside Amy in tandem to continue to grow the Affiliate and its mission.
The second announcement is that the Komen Kentucky headquarters office has relocated from Butchertown to its new space at 9900 Shelbyville Road in Louisville. We believe this will provide an ease in access to the office, thus strengthening our existing relationship with the communities we serve.
Thank you again, and I look forward to working with you in the future as Komen Kentucky’s Director of Development.
