Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Komen Kentucky! Here is a
list of our volunteer needs for July and August.
JOIN THE CHALLENGE!
The Big Wig Challenge is an easy way to get involved with Komen Kentucky! You can help out from anywhere at anytime- it's up to you! We are inviting our wonderful volunteers to participate! All you need to do is:
1. Put on something PINK
2. Post a video or photo to social media asking your friends and family to join you in the Komen Kentucky Big Wig Challenge to raise awareness and funds
4. Make it your own and HAVE FUN!
VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION
Please note, we will be holding a Volunteer
Orientation on Tuesday,
August 15, 5:30-6:30pm in the Louisville office of Komen Kentucky (1201 Story
Ave, Ste 205) to give basic information about the
organization and breast cancer, so you will feel better prepared to represent
us. This program is not mandatory, but highly recommended! The next
Louisville trainings will be on: Wednesday,
September 27, 5:30pm and Thursday, October 12, 5pm. Both
trainings will be specific to volunteering for Race for the Cure and
related events.

Race for the Cure Calls- Registration is now
open for both the Louisville and Lexington Races for the Cure. We are hoping to
call all past participants from the last three years to encourage them to join
us again this year. Call lists will be given, along with call scripts. We would
like volunteers to make at least 10 calls, but if you are willing, you can call
many, many more!

Crafting with Komen Kentucky- Assist us in making pink tissue paper flowers in preparation for Pink Out for Cures and other events. Supplies/instructions will be provided. This is great for kids and groups! |

Opportunities are first-come, first-served. If you can do more than one
shift of events that have multiple shifts, please let us know! Also, feel free
to volunteer with a spouse, friend, or family member. Children age 13-16 are
welcome to help with adult supervision. High school students 16 and older may
attend by themselves. This is a great opportunity to get service hours!
If you cannot participate this month, no worries! Perhaps there will be another project that works with your schedule or fits your interests better another time. Volunteer emails will be sent once a month (typically on the second Friday).
